There are moments of beauty that many have described and captured in so many different ways. Having lived on the coast for most of my life I have seen skies meeting the the sea horizon in many different lights. There was one morning in particular that will always stand out in my memory.

This particular day was 3 years ago, 6am in the morning and as I strolled down the cliftop gardens and onto the cold soft sands of our local beach I looked up to see this image aboove. Ironmen preparing for the day ahead. These guys had been up since 4 am and were stood at the waters edge mentaly graphing out thier day. 2.4 mile swin in open Welsh waters, a 112 mile cycle ride around the hilly and not so kind counrtyside of Pembrokehire finishing off with a 26.2 mile run.
To me the thourght of walking to the next village is enough but these guys are pulling out all the stops. All I could think was what is going through their minds? are they just taking in one of the most amazing sunrises available over the old fishing harbour or are they lost in focus of the fight?

This moment was beyond words and filled me with a rush of my own emotions, to the point where I could feel a tear breaking through. The power that just simply radiates from the 1500 entrants in an Ironman competition is so infectious it pushes your heart rate up and melts your mind all at the same time.

This is one of those precious moments that is worth getting out of bed at, an ungodly, 5am to support and encourage complete strangers.
